2019 Coyote Cup

Written by on October 22, 2019

During the 2019 Homecoming week, the Kansas Wesleyan Golf Team will be busy supporting the Annual Coyote cup, which is a Shotgun style tournament in which the proceeds go towards funding Kansas Wesleyan’s Athletics. The event took place at 12:30 PM on Friday the 11th. For those of you that do not know what a shotgun start is it is simple A tournament format in which all groups of players tee off simultaneously from different holes. A shotgun is shot into the air to signal the start of the tournament. Each hole on a course will be the tee off hole for each foursome. Group 1 would start from hole 1, Group 2 from hole 2, etc. Every team will also be assigned a “Pro” which will be one of our very own KWU Golf Team students. This annual event is a great way for friends and family to get together for the homecoming weekend and show off their skills on the course. Prior to the tournament beginning, there will be a scrumptious lunch provided by the Salina Country Club and time for all participants to mingle and talk about who they are there supporting. Following the 18 hole tournament, the participants are treated to a delightful selection of hors d’oeuvres and drinks while they await the results of the tournament. The winners of each category receive a cash prize or a small gift presented by the golf team. All in all, I highly recommend participating if you have an act for golfing and having a fun time.
