Kansas Wesleyan University announced two fall scholarships available to high school graduates in the fall of 2020 as new enrollment.

The Ad Astra scholarship is to be awarded to any Kansas high school graduate or home school student that holds a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Transfer students are also eligible. The award amount is $15,000 per year for up to four years of undergraduate study.

The Saline County scholarship is an undergraduate scholarship as well, and will award $17,500 per year for up to four years to any student who graduates from a Saline County high school or home school or resides at a Saline County address.

The Saline County scholarship is made possible in part by John K. and Donna Vanier family.

In a news release issued March 23, Dr. Matt Thompson, President & CEO of KWU said “We know Kansas students and their families may want to stay close to home for their college experience”.

The priority deadline for enrollment is extended to June 1 without any increase, due to the current Covid 19 pandemic.

Several departments at the university assisted in reaching out by telephone to close to 700 students who had previously submitted an interest form, to inform them of this new opportunity. All interested students were instructed to contact admissions and their assigned admissions counselor for further discussion.
