Why Video Games Might Save Your Social Life

By: Spencer Keane

Many people play video games, but many don’t realize how vital they may be to maintaining social sanity in this day and age. With the ability to see your friends in person being virtually eliminated with the current COVID-19 outbreak, interactive gaming may be the answer for many.

I personally have used gaming as a major way to stay connected with my friends and family during the lockdown.

Many games offer an online multiplayer as well as in-game chatting which can allow you as close to a feeling of actually hanging out with someone as possible at the moment. The ability to also meet new players online and still provide yourself the ability to meet new people and make new friends can help relieve some of the stress that comes along with this quarantine. Although many may see video games as a waste of time or money there has never been a better time to experience it for yourself and get into the hobby of online and competitive gaming. With the ability to now play games across platforms as well you don’t need to purchase any certain system in order to connect with any of your friends. One console and a copy of the game of your choice is all one needs to be up and running and hopefully making their quarantine experience a little better.
