One of my favorite places to get a sweet treat in Salina is Dagney’s Ice Cream located on Iron Street in Downtown Salina. Dagney’s is a locally owned and operated ice cream shop that sources all of its ingredients from local farms. They offer a wide variety of flavors that are very unique and super delicious. They even offer a decent selection of dairy-free options for those who are sensitive to dairy!

Dagney’s offers flavors that you wont find at any chain ice cream shop here in Salina. Some of their unique favors include, “Hot” Chocolate, which is chocolate with tobacco sauce, Maple Bacon, and Lavender Honey. Their non-dairy options, which can be hard to come by in Salina, include Dark Chocolate, Strawberry, Coconut, Speculoos, Pumpkin Spice, and Orange Cranberry. All of their non-dairy options are made with a coconut milk base. Dagney’s also offers ice cream floats with various sodas, and you can even get your scoop in a fresh waffle cone that is handmade! As for the prices, it can be a little more expensive than other chain ice cream shops. A small cup will run you $4, medium is $6, and a large is $8. Although it is more expensive, the ice cream is of higher quality with fresher and better grade ingredients, making the ice cream taste better, and it’s always good to support a local business!

I would personally recommend the Speculoos and Salted Caramel Banana Ice creams! They were some of the best ice cream flavors I’ve ever had and you really could taste the quality of ingredients in the ice cream. Next time I defiantly want to try one of their daily-free options. The service was fast and helpful, offering free samples if there was any flavors you wanted to try. There isn’t a lot of seating inside the creamery, but there is decent parking outside if you wanted to sit in your car with a friend and eat your ice cream.

Overall, I would rate Dagney’s a 10/10! I had such a great experience and the ice cream was some of the best I’ve ever had! The variety of unique flavors and dairy-free options makes this a great local place to go for a sweet treat!
