What’s more exciting than watching a game go into OT? Well, this past weekend the women’s soccer team went up against Bellevue university that ended up going to OT. The whole game was intense from the start both teams kept going back and forth at each other. At the end of the first half, it was 0-0 a tough half for both. Both teams came out second half on a mission to grab the win, which even got more instance and even messy, anything to grab the win at no cost. Bellevue ended up opening up the score leading 1-0 but shortly after the women soccer team were quickly to respond and tie up the game to 1-1 at piece. Grabbing that goal and tying it motivated the ladies to keep working because it didn’t take them long enough to grab another goal in order to get the lead from Bellevue making it 2-1. Although the ladies were able to grab the lead on Bellevue it wasn’t enough as towards the end of the game of regular time Bellevue ended up tying the game at 2-2. Kayla Deaver who’s a senior who plays forward for the women soccer team and who is from Lee’s Summit Missouri. She had last great hope for the ladies towards the end of game by taking on the whole team from her own half all the way to the other half of Bellevue side and coming close to end the game until Bellevue keeper came in clutch last second to save the shot from Kayla Deaver. Which ended up taking the game to OT. Both teams had 5 minutes to prepare a quick game plan to see the game through. From the very start of OT was already intense as both teams really wanted it. The first half of OT ended with plenty of action, but it wasn’t until 2nd half started of OT which the women soccer team of our very own suffered a heartbreaker. Which Bellevue scored a late winner in OT ending the game and the Kansas Wesleyan women soccer team hopes of winning the game. Although it was a loss, it was every intense game to watch that had everyone on their feet. Catch the ladies next week on Wednesday at home when they go up against Tabor at 5pm.
