Lakewood Park is situated on the Northeast side of Salina. You can get to it from Ohio or from Iron Avenue. The park has a wooded area offering walking nature and hiking trails that lead you to a lake. The lake is stocked with fish and you can canoe on it also. The site is developed around an old sandpit, which is now dedicated to nature.
The Lakewood Discovery Center attracts both locals and visitors. This unique setting creates and nurtures curiosity and interest with rooms filled with animals and plants. Learning stations include bird identification, insect life, geology, prehistoric life and urban wildlife habitat.
Get a group together to enjoy some frisbee golf and in the meantime you will take in some great views of natural grass areas.
This family friendly park has plenty of covered picnic areas and grills to cook on.
