The Land Institute is situated Southeast of Salina on Water Well Road.
Founded as a nonprofit organization in 1976, The Land Institute is committed to researching and developing food production methods that sustain the land and soil, a precious resource in an increasingly precarious state around the globe.
As stated by it’s founder, Wes Jackson, “If your life’s work can be accomplished in your lifetime, you’re not thinking big enough.”
Interns serve a critical role in fulfilling the shared mission, contributing as staff members to the work on perennial crops, research to achieve ecological intensification, and ecosphere studies.
