The ceremony will be short and meaningful, running for about 45 minutes. It takes place on campus in the beautiful Sam’s Chapel.

Key Numbers and Anticipated Turnout

The Provost’s office shared important details about the expected class size. We spoke with Jill Koster, Executive Academic Assistant, who provided available information about the ceremony.

Koster states that the university anticipates around 35 students are eligible to graduate this December. Furthermore, RSVPs are still coming in from students planning to attend the ceremony. Consequently, the final number of participating graduates will not be confirmed until closer to the date. Students have until December 1st to RSVP for the ceremony.

Featured Speaker Announcement

A major highlight of the ceremony is the presentation by the featured speaker. This year, the university honors one of its own.

Professor Barbara Marshall Nickell will take the stage as the commencement speaker. She holds the title of the 2024-2025 Exemplary Teacher, a huge honor. In addition, she is the namesake for the university’s Barbara Marshall Theatre Scholarship. Her speech will inspire the graduates as they officially start their professional careers.
