Best Mexican Food in Salina?

Welcome Back! Fallon Food Reviews is bringing you another food review! Today, we will be trying Don Toro’s Kitchen. I was told to go here by Coach Tyler Huffstickler, and he’s heard good things about it, so I’m excited!

From what I have gathered, Don Toro’s has been open for about 3 years. Since it has gained 4.8/5 stars on Google Reviews. Located on Old Highway 40, let’s give this potential hidden gem a try!

Food of the Day

The menu was quite diverse. Mason Boland told me to get the Tori-Taco. This consisted of melted mozzarella cheese and beef. The tortilla is dipped in special birria sauce. With a side of consome. Alongside onions and cilantro.

When they came out, they looked amazing!

They also gave us salsa verde and salsa rojo to go on top of our food.

After I took my first bite, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and taste of the food. 

The meat wasn’t dry; it was spicy, but not burn-your-tongue-off spicy.

Sauces also played a big factor in the meal, and honestly, just made it better.

I gave it a 7.4/10 as I thought it was pretty good for Salina.

We also got a churro and ice cream on the house! I think they knew what we were up to, but an amazing gesture from the staff!

Summary

• Service: 11/10, amazing people, and really made the experience a whole lot better.
• Price: 8.5/10, the price was average, but you do get decent-sized portions.
• Food: 7.4/10, I have had better back home, but for Salina, this is pretty good, and I would definitely come back here.

Overall, Don Toro’s lands an 8.9/10!
