The Admissions Office at Kansas Wesleyan University is an important office for visitors or incoming students if they have questions about their information like the acceptance status then the enrollment process and transcripts.
The office is open from 8am-5pm weekdays where anyone who has any questions are welcome to come in. Tabitha Slechta is the lead receptionist in the admissions office, the campus visits coordinator and the assistant cheer coach at KWU said “We do get a lot of questions that can be related to pretty much anything, and if we can’t answer them, we always make sure to get them to someone that could answer those.”
Tabitha Slechta organizes individual and group visits, and major events like coyote preview days. Tabitha also runs the ambassador program, which includes 11 students who assist with tours, and administrative tasks. “The ambassadors help write postcards for our visitors, especially the ones that they recently met on campus tours. Having student ambassadors are a great way for our visitors to get to know more about our campus without just being with a bunch of adults”.
Visitors that would like a campus visit can go onto the KWU website https://www.kwu.edu/ and go under admissions and request a visit KWU Admissions. The visit can really be about what the visitor would like to see. They can meet with a professor and watch a class. If the student is being recruited for a sport, they can meet the coach and team as well.
The admissions section in the website gives details over the undergraduate requirements that KWU considers for acceptance, there is more specific information and criteria for incoming freshman and transfer students that they will most likely need to meet.
The website knows what the next steps for future students are after being accepted. If a first-time freshman or transfer student have any questions about their official transcripts, application status the admissions office is the office that can handle those situations. The office also has detailed information about certain programs like the MBA program, and also includes information about online classes and support for international students.
