Kansas Wesleyan Baseball Team Honored During Homecoming Celebration

The Kansas Wesleyan University baseball team was recognized on Friday, October 25, at halftime of the women’s volleyball match in Muir Gymnasium. Players and coaches walked onto the court to receive their KCAC Championship rings in front of cheering fans and families during Homecoming Weekend.

The event celebrated one of the best years in program history. The Coyotes finished the 2024–25 season with a 41-15 record, winning both the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) regular-season and tournament championships. Under head coach Bill Neale, the team earned its third straight 40-win season, a first in school history. Their success has made Kansas Wesleyan one of the top NAIA baseball teams in the country.

Throughout the season, the Coyotes showed heart, teamwork, and determination. Their hitters came through in big moments, driving in runs when the team needed them most. The pitching staff worked together to stay focused and strong, helping the Coyotes bounce back from a few tough early games.

In the NAIA Baseball National Championship Opening Round, Kansas Wesleyan defeated Bellevue University (Nebraska) and Taylor University (Indiana) to reach the championship game. There, they faced Grand View University (Iowa) in a hard-fought matchup. Despite playing with energy and confidence, the Coyotes came up short, falling just shy of a second straight NAIA World Series appearance.

During the halftime ceremony, the team also presented their KCAC Championship banner and tournament trophy. The Homecoming crowd rose to their feet, cheering as the players took photos and waved to supporters.

The excitement carried into the volleyball match, where the KWU women’s volleyball team swept Southwestern College in three sets to improve to 12-11.

The night was filled with school pride and joy. Fans celebrated both teams and the strong spirit that makes Kansas Wesleyan University a special place. As the baseball team looks ahead to the 2026 spring season, they hope to defend their title and make another run toward the NAIA World Series.

The Coyotes 2026 season will begin on January 23rd as the team will travel to Hobbs, New Mexico to play University of the Southwest. On January 30th the team will return to Salina to play Doane University.
