Getting Some Grub
This past week was homecoming week at Kansas Wesleyan University. There were many homecoming activities throughout the week but one of the biggest ones was the homecoming pep rally. Before the pep rally they had a cookout in the Student Activities Center for all the students to eat. With the Den and the Cafeteria closed a majority of the students were in the Student Activities Center to grab some grub. They served fried chicken, chicken strips, mac and cheese, and even fried pickles! Senior Abby Wray said “In all 4 years I have been here they have never served fried pickles for the pep rally cookout!” People were able to sit inside and outside to enjoy the amazing food.
Here Come the Dancers
They had the pep rally open to the public so the people of Salina could enjoy the food and watch the pep rally. The actual pep rally was hosted outside the Student Activities Center on the lawn at Bevan Green. To start off the pep rally the dance team coached by Claire Schmidt danced to a mashup of Hollaback Girl and Another One Bites the Dust. They put on such an amazing performance that the crowd roared for them to keep on going and they did with a twist.
Dancers, Cheerleaders, & the Howl Oh My!
After that the cheerleaders coached by Antonio Snyder came on to join the dancers to dance while the Howl played the school’s fight song. And Lastly the Howl played Toxic while the dancers performed and the cheerleaders stunted into the background. They all have put in a ton of hardworking to get this performance to be perfect for the pep rally. It was an excellent performance from the dancers, cheerleaders, and the howl well done ladies and gentlemen.
