KWU Coyotes Baseball Eyes Big 2026 Season After Historic 2025 Run
The Kansas Wesleyan University (KWU) Coyotes baseball team enters the 2026 season with high expectations. In 2025, the Coyotes made history by winning the NAIA Shreveport Opening Round and reaching the NAIA World Series for the first time.

Fernando Ruvalcaba
They dominated the KCAC, capturing the regular-season title and finishing among the top offenses in the nation. The team crushed 127 home runs, drove in 516 RBIs, and posted a strong .327 batting average.
KWU plans to build on that success. While a few seniors graduated, the coaching staff brought in new talent ready to step up. Returning players are ready to lead both offensively and defensively.
The pitching staff will play a major role. In 2025, Brett Maddock delivered strong starts, while Ritter Steinmann locked down games out of the bullpen. The Coyotes will rely on continued development from both starters and relievers this season.

Carter Allan
Offensively, Carter Allan and Fernando Ruvalcaba will anchor the lineup again. In 2025, they combined for over 30 home runs, providing power and consistency in the middle of the order. Ruvalcaba earned 3rd Team All-Conference at first base and led the team in home runs. Allan also made 3rd Team All-Conference as the designated hitter and stole 13 bases.
Both players bring leadership and production. The Coyotes will count on them to drive the offense and set the tone.
KWU continues to rise on the national stage. With strong returning talent and proven coaching, the Coyotes aim to defend their KCAC crown and push for a deeper run at the NAIA World Series in 2026.
