KWU Women’s Golf Wins Historic 5th Match Play Win
Written by Magen Dow on October 27, 2025
On October 20-21, the KCAC Match Play tournament was underway, ending the 2025-2026 fall season for the Coyotes. The KCAC Match play event has only been around for 6 years, and who in the KCAC has one 5 out of those 6 years? Your Kansas Wesleyan University women’s golf team.
Odds Stacked Against
Starting out the tournament was the stroke play round to decide seeding for the next match rounds. The Lady Yotes battled through near-impossible wind conditions, but that did not deter them from claiming the number one seed going into the first round of matches. After battling the wind all of the first stroke play round, up next was the battle against York University in the semifinal round.
Victory After Defying Odds
The battle against York was no battle whatsoever, as the Lady Yotes breezed through their matches and won 4.5-0.5. The championship
match against Evangel University, however, was not going to be a cake walk. With better playing conditions but
a tougher opponent, the KWU women’s golf team fought out a nail-biting round of matches, with 4 out of the 5 matches going all the way to the very last second on the 18th hole. After having the grit to battle horrific wind conditions, the Lady Yotes continued to have the same mindset and won against Evangel, becoming the 2025 KCAC Women’s Match Play Champions.
Icing On The Cake For End Of Season
