The Diamond Yotes Stay Hot Over the Break!

The Break Didn’t Stop the Hot Coyotes!

The Yotes started Spring Break going up against the Tabor Blue Jays. Who had just come off a series win against (RV) Oklahoma Wesleyan. Game 1 for the baseball team set the tone to how the rest of the series was going to shape up when the coyotes went down in the middle part of the game and found themselves trailing heading into the 9th inning 6-4.

After a line drive single, a couple of walks, and a hit by pitch. Niko Olson came up with the bases loaded and served a Sac Fly into center field and scoring the winning run. Game 2 started a similar way when the coyotes found themselves in another stressful game going into the ninth inning, but this time tied in the 9th.

After a couple of walks and some key sac hits. Niko Olson found himself up to the plate again with a chance to win it. On the first pitch he jumped all over it and hit a walk off home run off the left field scoreboard. The final score of game 2 would end in a 5-2 score.

Even in the cold the bats can’t be Stopped!

The baseball team went to McPherson and dominated. The initial game time temperature was set at 41 degrees and still the yotes kept the heat up! After a slow start the offense came alive in the 3rd in 4th inning. They combined for 10 runs and took advantage of some mistakes from the bulldogs. The final score was 13-2.

The Notes Quiet the Falcons

In a 3 game set the Coyotes took 2 of 3 to the Falcons of Friends. Highlighted by an offensive onslaught from many hitters including Carter Allen, Garrett Garfield, and Chris Finnachario. This is a relative theme as the Yotes rank top of the list in many offensive categories in NAIA. This includes Home Runs, Extra Base Hits, and Slugging percentage.
